CLIMBING PANTS WITH A STORY
Every few years we need to change almost all of our climbing equipments because of the safety. That creates the wastes that we cannot use any more for what it was designed. As an answer to that problem Agata Wala designed climbing pants for indoor and outdoor sport climbing that contains a piece of old, worn climbing equipment as a rope or a climbing tape. Every pants has a special number that allowed you to check the story of the old climbing pice.
The pants are dyed with the shibori technique, which refers to the style of the 60s, the time when the sport climbing was established. Color changes on the fabric also mask the white dirt of talk (white powder, which prevents sweating of hands).
For the concept the author designed also the logo, labels and template for the website.

WET POINT
2018
UMBRELLA “WET POINT”
While rainy season in Taiwan everyone we pass has umbrella.
The umbrella design is a solution for a problem of wetting passersby with raindrops dripping from the edges of the umbrellas. The appropriate shape has only one point where water drips. This point illuminates a red dot where the drops fall so we can easily avoid it.
The idea was created during workshop led by director and designer at Milk Design from Hong Kong Mr. Lee Chi Wing. The workshop were held at Shih Chien University in Taiwan 實踐大學.

AIR ROOTS
2017
How the shape and size of a pot could affect plant? Strong and healthy roots are crucial, that is why the pot has a lot of holes.
What does it change? The method is called „Air pruning root system“. Air pruning happens naturally when roots are exposed to air in the absence of high humidity. The roots are effectively “burned” off, causing the plant to constantly produce new and healthy branching roots. If roots are not exposed to air, they continue to grow around the container in a constricted pattern. Healthy, highly branched root structures allow a plant to more efficiently uptake water and nutrients while increasing growth and overall plant health.

LIGHT REFRACTION BOTTLE
2018
Looking from outside the images inside the bottle are invisible because of the light refraction in water. However, by looking through the transparent crack in the cap we notice that something appears inside. Only after opening, we are able to see the image placed on the bottom of the bottle. We also notice the second image that is under the cap. The image on the underside of the cap, together with the image from the bottom of the bottle, create a whole picture showing the confrontation of history and the present.
The project was designed for the “Future of the Past” competition organized in cooperation with Brama Poznania ICHOT – heritage interpretation center. The project aims to arouse the user’s curiosity by discovering history and making people aware of the relationship between history and the present.
