COSI FAN TUTTE

2020

Outdoor scenery with aerial gymnastics for the Italian opera from 1790 written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It is a story about two couples in which men test the faith of their women. The inspiration was the paradise tree from the Garden of Eden and white sheets referring to the bed of sin.

The various arrangements of the AerialSilk create the opportunity to build a variety of stage situations.

ASTONISHMENT

Music video directed by Agata Wala, inspired by Wisława Szymborska’s poem “Astonishment” (pl. „Zdumienie”). The music video for the poem “Astonishment” presents a character in the context of three different spaces. The first alludes to the history of our creations, which will continue to accompany us for the next generations. The second space, with a luminescent table, is a symbol of the veil of technology imposed on us, from which the woman draws out the colors and rubs them into her skin, wanting to penetrate as deeply as possible what she sees. In the third scene, the actress dances on a hanging claret silk among tropical plants. This scene portrays the diversity of species to which humans adhere as one of many creatures. The worlds of technology, nature and human materiality intertwine. The video is produced in collaboration with the Lubuski Theatre from Zielona Góra and also refers to the characteristics of this wine region.

It was nominated for the Jerzy Moskal Stage Design Award 2021 and exhibited in the Silesian Museum in Katowice.

The event is a part of the Przestrzenie Sztuki project, financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance and The Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute.
